The university offers various scholarships. To encourage more female students to continue their learning journeys after class 12, UPES through its initiative ‘Shakti’ is creating a fast track for them from classroom to the boardroom - with exclusive scholarships for female students. Since 2020, UPES has offered ‘Shakti’ scholarship to more than 6000 female students from across India. The total tuition fee for UPES Dehradun BCA course ranges between INR 3.42 Lacs and INR 4.82 Lacs as per an unofficial source. The fee excludes hostel charges and other admission expenses. Aspirants are required to pay the course fee after completion of all the selection rounds to confirm their seats. The selection to BCA course will be based on national-level entrance exam CUET or personal interview. In case, a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the specified time, his or her admission will stand cancelled. Aspirants will also need to pay a registration fee to apply for admission. Candidates who have passed graduation in any stream along with Class 10 and Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate can apply for MBA course. Apart from meeting the eligiiblity requirement, candidates also need to pass either UPESMET/ CAT/ CUET PG  for admission to MBA course. In case, any aspirant fails to secure the minimum marks* specified by the university, he or she will need to appear for UPESMET. For admission to Global MBA, aspirants only need to come for the PI round. The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview round for further selection. After completion of the selection rounds, aspirants will need to prove their eligibility by provding necessary documents for verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

Aspirants who have passed Class 10 and Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate and a minimum of 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Maths/ Biology, and English in Class 12 can apply for BTech/ BTech (Hons) course with JEE Main or CUET score. Aspirants must secure at least 50 percentile for admission to through SAT India score. For aspirants who wish to apply with their merit in the last qualifying exam must pass Class 10 and Class 12 with at least 75%-80% aggregate and a minimum of 75%-80% aggregate in Class 12 PCM subjects. In case a candidate has not appeared for any of the specified exam, he or she can appear for UPESEAT. As soon as the selection round is over, aspirants will need to prove their eligibility by provding necessary documents for verification. 

BTech is one of the popular courses of UPES Dehradun. As per NIRF 2022 rankings, the university was ranked at 61 position under 'Engineering' category. The rankings saw a jump from 91 position in 2021 and 167 position in 2020. Apart from the Engineering course, UPES Dehradun was also the part of NIRF Ranking under 'University' category. Recently, the university also found a place in 'Overall' category of NIRF 2022 rankings. Not only in terms of position, the university also provides excellent placement opportunities to BTech students. As per the latest report, over 250 recruiters participated and presented over 2,000 job offers to the class of 2023. Further, the highest and average package offered to School of Computer Science students during UPES placements 2023 stood at INR 36 LPA and INR 8.66 LPA, respectively.

UPES offers a total of 3,010 seats for the BTech/BTech (Hons) course. Admissions to these seats follow two categories: the non-exam category, which allocates 10% of seats through JEE Mains and 10% through Board Merit, and the exam category, where seats are filled based on UPES Examination and other tests conducted by the university. The selection process for the BTech course considers performance in JEE Main/CUET/SAT India and the candidate's merit in their last qualifying examination. Once selected, candidates must present necessary documents for verification to establish their eligibility. To secure their place in the university, students need to pay the prescribed course fee, which ranges from INR 9.46 Lacs to INR 18.32 Lacs, according to unofficial information. It's crucial to note that the fee covers only tuition and excludes other components.
