The Commission removed the optional subject from the UPPSC Main exam. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission removed the optional subject based on the directives of the State Government. Earlier, the total number of subjects in the UPPSC PCS exam is 29 including four literature subjects. The candidates were required to select one of the optional subjects from the list. The General Studies, Hindi, and Essay paper were compulsory to all the candidates.
