The candidates can open the UPSC website on the Google chrome and follow the steps given below to download the UPSC website:
Click on the Admit Card link available on the Home page of the website Read the instructions given on the page and click on the Yes button Select any of the given two options
By Registration ID or
By Roll Number
Enter registration ID and date of birth ("if By Registration ID" is selected) or roll number and date of birth (if "By Roll Number" is selected)
Click on the Submit button.

The candidates should take the colour printout of the IAS admit card to present the clear picture of theirs. The candidates can take the black and white print out too but in case of blurry photograph, the candidates can suffer at the examination centre while comparing the face of the candidate with the scanned image shown in the admit card. The coloured printout will help the candidates to gain the entry at the examination centre easily.

The candidates can download the IAS admit card in case they lost it. Even on the day of exam, the candidates can appear in the first paper and show their IAS admit card in the second shift. The candidates will be require to sign an undertaking that they will produce the IAS admit card in the second shift. The candidates can download their IAS admit card even if they forget their registration number. The UPSC admit card will be available till the exam day for downloading purpose. The candidates should take two copies of the UPSC admit card to produce another copy in such cases.

IAS admit card is the authorisation letter required to secure entry to the examination centre. The candidates cannot appear for the IAS exam without the IAS admit card. But the IAS admit card is available online to download so there cannot be an issue. The examination authority will not allow the candidates (without admit card) to enter the examination centre. Sometimes, the candidates with no admit card is allowed to appear in the paper 1 but they need to furnish an undertaking to produce the admit card in the second shift.

The UPSC releases the admit card of the exam three weeks before the date of exam. But after the COVID-19 pandemic, UPSC is working proactively and issuing the admit card well before the expected date. IAS 2023 exam will be conducted on May 28 and as per the official timeline, the UPSC is expected to release the UPSC IAS admit card 2023 soon. The candidates will be required to download their admit card from the official website or alternatively they can download the IAS admit card by following the steps given here.

IAS prelims 2023 will be conducted on May 28 at the designated exam centres across the nation in offline mode, There will be two papers in the prelims exam. The IAS prelims result is prepared on the marks secured in the General Studies Paper 1 provided the candidate secure the qualifying marks (33 per cent) in the General Studies Paper 2 (CSAT). The IAS 2023 admit card is expected soon because the Commission is expected to release the IAS admit card anytime now. The IAS admit card is an authorisation letter which authorises the candidates to appear in the exam.
