The candidates should note that as per the feedback of the candidates appeared in the IES prelims 2024 the Commission asked difficult questions from the IES syllabus. The candidates mentioned in their feedback that the Commission followed the question paper pattern of the asking difficult questions in the exam.Based on the exam's difficulty level, the IES 2024 prelims cutoff is expected to remain low based on the difficulty level of the question paper but based on the number of vacancies we can say that few candidates will be selected. The Union Public Service Commission releases the IES result PDF on its official website - upsc.gov.in. But the Commission removes the previous year result pdf from the official website. The number of IES selected each year is different and based on the number of IES vacancies mentioned in the official notification. The Commission can increase or decrease the official number of vacancies even after the release of official notification. The Union Public Service Commission conducted the IES 2024 exam on February 18, 2024. The Commission releases the prelims results within a fortnight of the exam. The Commission is expected to release the IES result 2024 soon on its official website - upsc.gov.in. The Commission mention the names and roll numbers of the qualified candidates in the result pdf. The candidates who qualifies in the prelims exam will be allowed to appear in the IES main exam 2024. The Commission will conduct the IES main exam 2024 on June 23, 2024 at the designated exam centres.

The Union Public Service Commission releases the Tie-Resolution principle in the IES cutoff pdf. The Commission mentions the following in the cutoff pdf: Wherever two or more candidates have secured equal aggregate marks in ESE the tie(s) have been resolved in accordance with the principles approved by the Commission, viz.(i) The candidates with more marks in subject/technical papers plus marks of Personality Test may be ranked higher;(ii) In case the total marks in the subject/technical papers plus marks of Personality Test are equal, thecandidate who is senior in age may be ranked higher.
