Hi Harshvardhan,
It doesn't matter, if you were an average student or a topper in your school. Trust me, a huge number of successful people in the world have been average or even below average in their school time. It is all about the passion, dedication, and willing to put the hard work. UPSC exams are highly competitive and requires a lot of hard work and perseverance. If you are really passionate to become an IAS officer, just concentrate on your goal and prepare for it with all your heart.

Hi Sakshi, Good to know you want to become a UPSC officer but you must know that None of your graduation subjects will matter in the path of UPSC. The only thing that matters is you can opt for Civil Engineering as a subject but CSE is not available there as a subject. If you wanna know more comment here.

For IAS preparation it would be good if you pursue your BA in the subjects like history, public administration, economics, constitution and geography and among these I think geography and public Administration are the most popular optional subjects for the Mains examination and accounts for nearly 50% share in the final Mains result.
In fact, UPES University of Dehradun has come up with a special IAS oriented BA programme for students to study BA in public administration along with IAS coaching and test preparation. This clearly signals that most of IAS aspirants prefer this subject in their BA.

Yes, you can apply for the UPSC exams in 2019, once you have graduated or even if you are awaiting results. The only condition is that you will have to submit proof of graduation once you have completed the course and will also have to submit detailed application form for UPSC (Main) examination.

Hi Shubham,
It's okay even if you didn't get any of the NLUs. There are many private institutions that you can join, one being Symbiosis law school, Pune. As I'm already a part of the institution I know that they also provide training to students who want to go for UPSC. Apart from this, there are others like Jindal Global Law School, etc.
