Hello Chethan,
It's very nice to hear from you that you are interested in learning more and more. There are different dynamics at work. Earning for living and supporting family. If any college in the place you are working is offering part time PG, you should go for it. Then you can register for Ph.D. Another great way of learning is expanding one's horizon. Here I would like to advise you that please download brochure cum application form of IGNOU. They have large number of courses in diverse fields. You can choose the one that fascinates you.

BA is good and helpful. If you want to clear exams of civil services, IAS, law, because it gives you a combination of different subjects like history and eco, psychology and English, economics and geography etc. After B.Sc, you can do M.Sc and Ph.D. After B.Sc you can go for teaching, lecturing, go for researches.

Yes, correspondence degree is eligible for UPSC exam. But it should be from a recognized university like IGNOU. People has already cleared UPSC exams, who had studied from correspondence course. Best of luck.

Dear Santhosh,
For UPSC, there is no certain course or specialisation to be studied to attempt the exam. You just need to have Bachelors degree to qualify for the exam. You need to devote a lot of time. Start preparing for the exam right away. The syllabus is huge and the more you cover the better you prepare. Take a degree in which you can handle the degree and also, prepare for the exams. Do not mess up too much stress as it will trigger a bad result in handling UPSC exams.

Hi Santosh, The best way to prepare for UPSC is to start from your ncert books from class 6 to 12th mainly Science and social studies. Or you can join UPSC coaching classes at Delhi for better guidance. There are many coaching institutes in Delhi, but bajiram and ravi is the top of them. Best of luck.

Clearing GATE with a good score can land you in technical jobs in PSUs and also opens doors for you to undertake research in reputed institutions like the IITs. UPSC Civil service is a completely different job profile which does not include anything of technical nature unless you opt for technical paper as your optional subject. UPSC CSE tests your overall knowledge in every field from History and geography to international relations. Both these exams have very low pass percentile, with GATE focusing only on your subject of study, while UPSC testing
