UPTET Pattern

UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Each paper has 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with four options and a single correct answer. The total marks for both papers are 150, with each question carrying one mark. The distribution of questions and marks in each paper is as follows:
- Paper 1: The 150 MCQs are divided into five sections, with 30 questions in each section. The sections are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1 (Hindi), Language 2 (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.
- Paper 2: The 150 MCQs are divided into five sections, with 30 questions in each section. The sections are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1 (Hindi), Language 2 (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics and Science, and Social Studies/Social Science.
It is important to note that each question carries equal weightage, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. Candidates must score a minimum of 60% marks to qualify the UPTET exam.

UPTET Paper 2 also consists of 5 sections, but the content of these sections is different from that of Paper 1. The sections in UPTET Paper 2 are:
1. Child Development and Pedagogy: This section is similar to the one in Paper 1, but the questions are designed to test the candidates' understanding of the educational psychology and teaching methodologies for students in the age group of 11-14 years.
2. Language 1 (Hindi): This section is also similar to the one in Paper 1, but the questions are designed to test the candidates' proficiency in the Hindi language for students in the age group of 11-14 years.
3. Language 2 (English/Urdu/Sanskrit): This section is similar to the one in Paper 1, but the questions are designed to test the candidates' proficiency in the chosen language for students in the age group of 11-14 years.
4. Mathematics and Science: This section tests the candidates' knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts, as well as their understanding of basic concepts in science subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, etc.
5. Social Studies/Social Science: This section tests the candidates' knowledge of social studies and social science subjects, including history, geography, civics, and economics.
Each section carries equal weightage, and candidates must score a minimum of 60% marks to qualify the UPTET exam. The exam is conducted fora duration of 2.5 hours, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

4. Mathematics: This section tests the candidates' knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts, including numbers, geometry, algebra, etc.
5. Environmental Studies: This section tests the candidates' knowledge of the environment, including topics such as ecology, pollution, natural resources, etc.
