If you are plannig to study your Master's degree in Canada then doing the 1-year PG Diploma in Canada itself would have been the ideal way, however, what comes into play is the question of reapplying for the visa, work permit, etc. A Master's degree admission is also very competitive in Canada. Also, remember that PG Diploma courses are professional in nature. You should instead complete the first year of MS degree in India itself and apply for MS again in Canada, many universities will suggest you the same. As per the American Education System, after 12th standard, you need to do 4 years of Bachelor's Degree- BS. And then after 2 year of MS. So, if you are going there to do Master's degree then yes you can complete your software engineering in 2 years.
