IATA stands for International Air Transport Association which is responsible to serve the airline industry. All the Airline rules and regulations are defined by IATA.The main aim of IATA is to provide safe and secure transportation to its passengers.
IATA also accredits courses also and to know the various courses offered in India and accredited by IATA, you may refer to the following link:

So yes, institutes providing tourism courses require to have an IATA accreditation.

Eligibility : Master's Degree in Tourism/ Hotel Management/ Aviation Management/ Geography/ Sociology/ History from any accredited Indian or Foreign University with a minimum of 55% marks or grade point average.
