The education and training requirements vary based on position and company. Various Courses that you could opt for with their eligibility are: Diploma –Class 10th pass from a recognized board with minimum 40% marks.
Bachelor's Degree: Class 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks. Post-graduation degree: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 45% marks.
Individuals who hold a degree in travel and tourism management may work as travel agents, Travel clerks, Tour guides, Travel guides,Lodging managers, hospitality managers or travel coordinators.

Travel and Tourism one of the world's largest foreign exchange earner among industries, provides employment directly to millions of people worldwide and indirectly through many associated service industries. A very wide industry, it includes Government tourism departments, Immigration and customs services, travel agencies, airlines, tour operators, hotels etc and many associated service industries such as airline catering or laundry services, Guides, Interpreters, Tourism promotion and sales etc. Travel and Tourism enterprises include major internationals with a workforce of thousands, to the small private travel agent with a handful of employees. TO fare well in this industry you can pursue BBA in Travel, tourism and hospitality , look for good colleges like UTM, NITHM ,Surajmal these are good colleges. Placement wise UTM had done pretty good in the last placement. All the best.

The eligibility criteria is that you have to have passed class 12, then you can go for admission in various types of degree or certificate programmes in hospitality tours and travel courses. I would strongly recommend doing a degree courses like BBA in hospitality travel and tourism rather than a certificate courses as it helps in better knowledge and good placement. After that you can go ahead and take admissions based on direct admission or entrance tests that you have to clear in order to matrciulate yourself to this course. Travel and tourism is seeing a steep rise and hence has better opportunities. You can go for colleges like UTM Shillong, YMCA, Asian Academy of Filam and Television. UTM has better placement and courses in this domain. All the best.

There are many types of courses available on Travel & Tourism industry, like there is certificate programes offered by institutes like YMCA and then there are also degree programmes like BBA in hospitality travel and tourism. If you are looking forward to do Travel and tourism related studies, then i would always suggest you to take up the degree course that is BBA in hospitality travel and tourism rather than the certificate programe. The certificate is just a mere training, but the Degree course will give you an indepth knowledge and better understanding plus the degree applicants for a job is always given the top priority and position. I would suggest you to go for a BBA in hospitality tours and travel from good institutions like UTM, Asian academy of FIlm television, YMCA as these colleges have very good placement and courses.All the best
