The specialisations are Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Physics, Statistics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mathematics, Geology, Geography, Computer Science and Applications, and Chemistry. The total tuition of the course ranges from INR 360 to INR 1.70 lakh. To apply for the BSc course, candidates need to fulfil the basic eligibility criteria, which is that they must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board.

The university also offers MPhil and PhD courses in 30 different specialisations. The minimum course duration for a PhD is three years, with a maximum of six years. The minimum course duration for an MPhil is two years, whereas the maximum course duration is five years. Yes, Utkal University has separate hostels for boys and girls. There are a total of 13 hostels, six for boys and seven for girls. Every hostel has a common room where boarders are provided with computer, WiFi, Library, newspapers, periodicals, and television. The students are also provided with computational facilities and WiFi. Each hostel has a mess facility.

Utkal University has 117 faculty members and 343 non-teaching staff. The university professors are PhD and Diploma holders. The university conducts conferences on a large scale and also arranges guest lectures for the students on various occasions. Yes, Utkal University has a placement cell that organises placement drives for the students. Utkal University has not released the placement statistics for the year 2023. However, NIRF has officially published the placement report 2023. As per the report, the median package offered during Utkal University UG 4-year and PG 2-year placements 2022 stood at INR 1.80 LPA and INR 4.00 LPA, respectively. Further, a total of 805 students were placed out of 1,583 students during Utkal University PG 2-year placements in 2022.
