Yes, it is a tier 1 college. For Maharashtra state and Mumbai being the financial capital, there is no college other than IIT Bombay that's better. It is deemed as the central institute and all the civil road surveys conducted by the municipality and government go through VJTI. For the past 20, CET toppers have chosen this college. It lags in comparison to colleges across India because of lack of funding and mismanagement. I graduated from the college and other than the students, the teaching and infrastructure is sub par. Legacy and alumni keep the college name going.

Hello Subroto Mullick, the eligibility of admission in VJTI Mumbai is based on the performance of the student in the internship examination called mht CET. Of course few seats are reserved for what is called as all India quota which is filled up on the basis of ranking of JEE mains examination. This is one of the premier institute of Maharashtra and it has been declared as an autonomous institute by the government of Maharashtra.
