You can go for visual communication as you will learn a broader number of topics in a communications-oriented major or career field. Graphic design, by contrast, is quite narrowly focused only on making a visual representation of key concepts within a visual method of communication, like advertising or web design. In visual communication, you will learn graphic design, illustration, animation, photography and even the modification, or airbrushing, of photographs to better illustrate a given point. These skills are considered broad and comprehensive, and they prepare graduates to enter a number of exciting fields within the communications industry.

B.Sc in Visual Communication is a 3-year full-time undergraduate course, the minimum eligibility for admission to which is the successful completion of the Senior Secondary Certificate (10+2) qualification from a recognized educational board, with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. Visual Communication, also called Viscom, provides eligible candidates a comprehensive and detailed exposure to creative fields of:

Animation
Design, etc. The course is best defined as a medium for conveyance of creative ideas and information in visual forms, i.e. , something that can be read and/or looked at. You are not eligible on the basis of 3- year Diploma course for B.Sc-Vis Com in Loyola College (LC, Chennai)
Eligibility: - Any Group in Plus Two / XII (OR) Equivalent Examination (Girls are also admitted).
The applicants who have passed the following examination should submit an eligibility certificate from the University of Madras.
a) Higher Secondary or equivalent examination conducted by all other State Boards except Tamil Nadu.
b) All degree (UG/PG) examinations conducted by any university other than University of Madras / foreign countries.
The online registration process should be completed within 10 working days from the date of publication of the result of Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Course.
