Depending upon your ranking you will be called for either phase 1 or phase 2 counselling and the category system start from the Phase 2 counselling. After all the seats in Phase 1 counselling ( 1 to 20k rank ) are filled, phase 2 counselling starts. Some seats are left for each category with and increase in the tuition fee. The category 1 fee is generally around 1.9 to 2 Lacs per annum and the category 2 fees is about 2.5 Lacs per annum.

As categories increase your fees also increases so be wary of the same and as your rank is not under this Category and so you are unable to get CSE in Vellore.

In VIT-Vellore, it is not possible to get CSE or Mech branch but in VIT Chennai definitely, you will get one of these. I should tell you one thing if you are going to VIT then do not take admission in the Vellore campus. The Chennai campus will become far better than the Vellore campus coming near future, in any aspects you think

It is next to impossible to get CSE at this rank in category 2 as chances are there to get it finished before 20k rank in Chennai and Vellore campus. You are eligible for admission in VIT Bhopal, if your rank is under 150000 and also as your is under criteria you are eligible. You can come to attend the counselling and it's totally based on your rank which category you will come under and the branch you will get.

Hi, as per question, there is no chance for you to get CSE/IT/ ECE in categories 2or 3. Because VIT Vellore campus as tough competition for CSE branch below 3000 rank can get it and the 5000 or above rank can get Chennai campus in category 1. you can try other branches like civil EEE you may get it in category 2 or 3.

Yes you will get CSE and IT in category 1 or 2 in Chennai and CAT 2 or 3 in Vellore. Departments like mechanical are even easier, so do not worry much. Do not pay attention to academic counselors they just spam the answers with their telephone numbers and dirty tricks.

Wait till final round you may get a seat in a decent branch because no one can predict the closing rank.
