Not a good idea. If you are getting NITs/IITs/IIITs then leaving VIT can be a wise idea. VIT is most reputed NAAC A+ accredited University having 9 NIRF ranking. The placements opportunities in VIT are the best. So, rethink before taking any decision.

Not that there is any kind of seat reservation but since the university is greatly supported by the government of Andhra Pradesh, there are many students (almost 50%) who come through the government exam here- EAPCET and so there is some affect on diversity of college but then there are good crowd in terms of academics because most of the above rankers in EAPCET exam choose this college. So, it is not kind of clear reservations but students here come through VITEEE as well as EAPCET.

Students having a valid score of 95 percentile and above in CAT XAT or GMAT are eligible for a full tuition fee waiver at VIT Vellore. However, I couldn't find any information about the minimum PCM score required for admission to the B.Tech programme in CAT 1. I suggest you contact VIT Vellore directly to get more information about their admission requirements and eligibility criteria. You can find their contact details on their official website.
