VIT University Vellore used to conduct their own entrance examination as VITEEE to provide admission in all the campuses of VIT. Candidates having a rank below one Lacs will be eligible for VITEEE counselling. If u score well and clear the cutoff for your desired branch, then u get admission there. U have to appear for an exam named VITEEE (Vellore institute of Technology engineering entrance exam) if u score well and clear the cutoff for your desired branch, then u get admission there.

Yes definitely, hostelers are allowed to visit outside the campus but there are certain rules and regulations which a student needs to consider and follow. It is just same, when the child is at home and parents bind them with some rules to be followed which are for their own safety.
