According to last year's cut-off the closing rank for VIT Vellore is 7000 so it is quite difficult to get VIT, Vellore by this rank. Just wait for the closing rank. But, in VIT University, Chennai last year's closing rank was14000 so it is easy for you. So, you must participate in the counseling.

But after the results page, if you get the counseling venue and date, means if you have been called for counseling then try your luck.

You can get these courses.
Computer science engineering (Chennai)
Mechanical (Chennai)
Electronics and communication engineering (Chennai)
Electronics and instrumentation (Vellore)
Chemical engineering (Vellore)
Biotechnology (Vellore)
Civil engineering (Vellore and Chennai)
These are some major courses that I know.
Choose wisely based on your interests.

Here are the steps:
Step One:
Go to the official website of VIT, www.vit.ac.in.
Step Two:
Click on the "VITEEE - 2017 - Results" given in the bullettin board, given on the right side of the website.
Step Three:
Enter Application Number, Date of Birth and Capta - which is given there.
Step Four:
Check Check Results, Score Card, Merit List, Rank List in the next page open.
(Note: As happened earlier, result portals usually do not respond when it is encountered with heavy volume of users, so, the candidates are advised to have patience)

With this rank, it is quite difficult to get computer science. So, I suggest you to think about another branch if you want to take admission in VIT such as EE or chemical engineering.
