As per the information in the year of 2023, the JEE Main cutoff rank for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at VNIT Nagpur was 39279 for the general category and for the year 2024 this goes from 5655 to 52250 for general category. As you given your OBC rank is 22493 and considering you are from the home state, you have a chance to get into the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering stream at VNIT Nagpur. This is an estimation based on the previous years' trends. For more information, I would recommend to contact the administration department of the college.

The selection for admission in VNIT to various courses is based on national-level entrance exams, such as JEE Main, NATA, DASA UG, etc. If your percentile is more than 75, you could get a VNIT, if it is more than 85 you could get a good VNIT, and if it is more than 92 you can get whatever you want. Hope this helps.

B.Tech lateral entry course means that eligible students can get admission directly into the second year of the program. So, with a B.Tech lateral admission, you start directly with the 2nd year of the B.Tech course. This implies that the duration of your BTech After Diploma reduces to 3 years only with lateral admission.

The annual cutoff for VNIT Nagpur BTech admission is determined by the JEE Main results. The last round closing cutoff for BTech courses ranged between 832 and 58063 for general category students, with CSE being the most competitive specialization, according to the VNIT Nagpur cutoff 2023. Even though a 97 percentile is a respectable grade, general-category applicants may find that it is insufficient to get into VNIT Nagpur. With a 97 percentile, you might have a better chance of being admitted if you fall into the reserved category.
