Yes, Civil Engineering is a good discipline to pursue. Civil Engineering can be said to be this big umbrella, under which may disciplines and areas of specializations are sheltered. I had given my WBJEE in 2015 and during that year they did not accept through SC Quota. You can contact the admissions office regarding any query.

The WBJEE 2018 Cut off List for engineering/architecture and pharmacy courses will be prepared on the basis of the candidates performance in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
WBJEE 2018 Cut off will be the basis of selection of the candidate for the preferred college and course. Candidates shall obtain the scores equivalent to the scores or ranks in the WBJEE 2018 Eligibility, to be able to appear for the WBJEE 2018 Counselling.

You get very good ranks so you should prioritise your branch first . For you getting in any government college is small deal.You can get other college such as kalyani govt engineering colleges.
