A candidate should practice at least 35 to 40 XAT mock tests during the entire preparation period. The mock tests should be of different varieties and various difficulty levels. Candidates should ideally start practicing XAT mock tests after completing the syllabus. They should start with easy mock tests, then move to moderate mock tests and then to tough mock tests. Ideally, candidates should start preparing for XAT from March onwards so that they have ample time to cover the syllabus and practicea good number of mock tests. However, starting preparation in June-July is also fine. About a minimum of six are required to prepare well for the XAT exam as it is one of the tougher MBA entrance tests. Candidates can also opt for coaching classes for XAT as per their convenience. Since Decision Making section is unique to XAT, study material for the same in not readily available. Thus the best source of preparation material for Decision Making section is XAT previous years’ question papers. This section has passages related to business situations. The Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation section of Xavier Aptitude Test 2025 will have the maximum number of questions that is 28, followed by Verbal and Logical Ability with 26 questions. Yes, since the syllabus of the Xavier Aptitude Test and the Common Admission Test are similar, one can prepare for both exams from the same study material. The students will have to study separately only for the Decision Making section of the Xavier Aptitude Test as this section is not a part of the Common Admission Test syllabus. The best time to begin Xavier's Aptitude Test preparation is May or June. If students start XAT preparation in May, they will have about seven months to study in a holistic manner. Students can start earlier than May too if they wish to. The Xavier Aptitude Test exam preparation must include two to three months of syllabus completion and two months of mock test practice. Preparation Tips for the XAT:
1- Know the exam pattern and syllabus of the XAT exam.
2- Get hold of XAT books and study material. These are available online and at coaching institutes.
3- Start with topics you are already familiar with and over which you have good control.
4- After completing a topic or a concept, always solve two-three problems based on it to know if you have completely understood it.
5- Revision is very important.
6- Join study groups online on platforms.
7- Focus on completing the XAT syllabus first and then move to solve XAT mock tests. Practice at least 30-35 mock tests for best performance.

Major part of your preparation is done once you prepare for CAT rest all exams have their own pattern and way of asking questions so we need to just add on some things based on that particular exam like
XAT- Decision making is a new section to deal with
SNAP- Vocabulary and grammar, some add on topics in logical reasoning like clocks, calendars, verbal reasoning etc. IIFT more about calculation and vocabuary again plus the questions are very lengthy in IIFT so get used to extracting the data fast from question
