Yes, Xavier Institute of Communication is one of the premium institutes in India for Mass Communication courses. It does provide placement support to all its students and its placement cell is very active.

You would not need any coaching classes for XIC preparation. The exam comprises of English language test, logical reasoning test, general knowledge and knowledge of media. To prepare for the exam, you can refer to the coaching books available in the market for general aptitude test. Read a lot of newspapers, current affairs and media related information on the internet. No, it is not so tough, since you want to apply for BMM. You can either join some classes or study at home as well. Just go through previous years' question papers and get an idea about the types of questions asked. Also, a reminder, the Entrance written exam is quiet fine, but GDPI is a bit tricky process.
