The placement in XIMR currently is a little slow, however quite a few students have been placed and with good packages. The average package over here is 5 LPA.

Hi Pratik,
For 2016 the average packages were Rs 4 - Rs 5 lakhs per annum. Marketing packages are usually on the higher side, so they'll be on the upper side of that range. The 2017 placements are still underway so cannot ascertain the final average but the average so far has been around Rs 5 lakhs per annum. Placement season picked up slower than usual this year as a result of demonetisation and preponing of the budget.
