Yes, as i already said, please go forward with the process. Moreover the salary fluctuates with the level of work-ex too. So there is not much issue.Last two years the placement is good many companies like TCS, ICICI, NPCI , many financial(HDFC, INDUSIND, ICICI) and insurance sectors(GIC, ICICI LOMBARD)including micro-finance companies (Janalakshmi and Annapoorna) participated. Highest package is 7 and minimum was 4.5.Total placement is expected to be 100% by end of 2nd phase of Placement.

For GD try to get in touch of recent topics whether political, business and social issues. Try to be loud and clear during the discussion and don't get into arguments. The topics are never repeated.Just keep clarity of your thoughts. Some of the topics are:
Doctors or Soldiers who are important for the country ?
Naxalism vs. terrorism: which is a bigger threat to the country?
Empowerment alone can help our women.
Are B-Schools perceived as placement agencies?
Leaders are born not made.

I would suggest you to go with Marketing Stream. Engg degree and Marketing is a nice combination. But you should also judge yourself for what you want to do. If you want to do desk job then finance is good else marketing if you can express well and move .
