Fees are very high in this college.
Placements: Placements are somewhat better here. You will surely get a job, but the salary package offered will not enough because you will get almost a salary package of 12 lacs for four years. So relationships which you are going to create in the college is the main source to get good salary packages.
Infrastructure: The hostel and the infrastructure here are very nice. Our college provides labs, classrooms and a library. You will get a Wi-Fi facility with high-speed internet inside the camps, but the drawback is you should not use mobiles inside the campus. However, the infrastructure and all the things are good.
Faculty: Teachers here are very friendly with only toppers but not with backbenchers. Their teaching quality is also somewhat good. Our college doesn't conduct IV or anything, so you need to go on your own.
Other: I chose this course because my dream is to build the ship. The name of our course is famous, but you will not get anything.

It is a great college because of good placements, good teaching staff and good facilities.
Placements: Almost 80-90% of students in our course got placed. The lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. Companies outside India and national companies visit our campus for placements. The highest salary package offered is 14 LPA. Some faculty members in our college are great, and they are very active in students future placement. The college has some cooperation from different multinational companies which visit our college every year to recruit students.
Infrastructure: Facilities available in our college are good, and the infrastructure is well-designed. Almost every classroom is equipped with air-conditioned and Wi-Fi facility. Hostel facilities are great. The only problem here is with food served in mess and canteen. Only the south people can survive here. North Indians struggle here because of the food. There are a few sports activities for students.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are great and well qualified. Their teaching quality is good. Only some teachers are assisting, but they are not very good in that field. The course curriculum is good. Many activities related to course are organised in the department. Department focuses very much on placing students in different industries and supporting them.
Other: I have chosen this course because my brother did this course from the same institute and got placed in an international company with a good salary package. I wish the college should provide more funds to conduct industrial visits and other activities.

It gives a good experience related to marine lifestyle and schedule.
Placements: There are good placements with all international companies visiting the college with high packages and promotions. The college provides international placements to all departments and alumni are on usual visits. The companies like Goodwood, Maersk Line, Shell, Chevron and many more are on regular placement visits.
Infrastructure: It is provided with a shipping campus which is the jewel of AMET. Swimming pool and all other facilities like gym, cafeteria are available. There are different departments for soft skills, English language, physics, physical education, yoga centre. A campus doctor and medical facilities are present. The mess is clean and hygienic.
Faculty: The different courses have different curriculum. B.E courses have 8 semesters in 4 years, and B.Sc has 6 semesters in 3 years. PhD programmes along with master's degrees are offered with excellent placement. Exam models include internals that are conducted, and students are provided with a library and other facilities.

The best college to study in marine related courses in India. Very good faculty members.
Placements: About 45% of the students got placed at different companies like Maersk, Shell, Hapag Lloyd, etc. There are also a lot of companies which are coming forward and giving students a lot of opportunities. The salary offered to them was from 15,000. The students were placed in various sectors also.
Infrastructure: It is a Wi-Fi enabled campus at high-speed. All important labs are also present for various courses to help out students in practicals. The library is quite big and has all the books for any subject reference. The college also has a clinic inside which has a good doctor and nurses. The college also provides various sports activities too. The classrooms are equipped with projectors. But, the college doesn't have the air-conditioning in classes as the weather in Chennai is very bad.
Faculty: The faculty members are very helpful. Many of them passed out from various high professional institutions. They teach very good and helps us in various aspects also. The course can give the best for the students. Naval architecture is mainly about the Shipbuilding.
Other: Annually, many events are hosted by the students from various departments.

Naval architecture at Academy of Maritime Education and Training.
Placements: The placements were average. The core companies visiting the college are very less. The CTC was around 2-4 lacs per annum was offered. Alumni network is poor. The department was started only in 2007. Hence, a number of alumni are few. Senior batches had placements from Sembawang Shipyard and Keppel. The placement cell of the department is not very active. The industry institution relations are for namesake.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average. Don't expect a high-quality infrastructure. The entire campus spreads over across 3-4 acres. The quality of infrastructure is poor compared to the high fee structure they charge. The classrooms are equipped with projectors, and the software lab has marine software like Aveva Marine, DNV Sesame, and however, only limited licenses are there.
Faculty: The faculty members are fresher and postgraduates. Usually, IITians from ocean engineering streams have less idea on shipbuilding or naval architecture or teaching methodology. The course curriculum keeps on getting updated but is vast, and most of the faculty members end up by not completing the syllabus.
