Well, In the first year all the branches study same syllabus in a same building and if one got good CPI in first year then you can get promoted to good branch which you have filled in the form. Now coming to the petrochemical branch, according to me I am concerned no branch is bad if you have passion about it. Go through any branch, you will definitely do good and as far as I am concerned by doing B.Tech from petroleum, you must prefer in gulf countries. You are eligible for every Government exam, mechanical. Now coming to AMU, mostly students prefer branches other than petrochemical nowadays. In first year, the infrastructure of all branches has same labs and workshops which are very good. They are having good instruments and machinery. After first year, petrochemical students have their labs mostly, and few in common labs. If we talk about faculty, I was from mechanical, so some teachers which are in common with petrochemical are fine you will find faculty fine. But some teachers will be good enough they teach in good manner. But if you have passion to get something, sure that they will help you out sure. The placement criteria is many small-scale companies and few large-scale companies including few MNCs which mostly hire EE, CS mechanical students few civil engineering and very few petrochemicals. If you are in luck, I think one of many petroleum companies also come sometimes.
