Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   How is the overall infrastructure of Amity University Mumbai?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni]

Amity University Mumbai has a vibrant campus life with various extracurricular activities allowed within restricted timings. The dress code is flexible, and there are multiple sports grounds and coaching available. However, students may need to bear additional expenses for books and eating out. The college hosts moderately busy events every month, and the mess food is of acceptable quality with a variety of options. Attendance policies are strictly enforced, and breaking rules may result in penalties. The college culture is diverse, and most students speak English on campus. Support staff is also diverse, and there is no language challenge. Academically, the schedule is relatively hectic with frequent exams, and teachings are application-based. There are well-stocked libraries and practical discussions around case studies. Security measures include guards and CCTV cameras, and outsiders can enter the campus without permission. Ragging is not tolerated, and leaving the hostel premises requires authorization.

Based on the reviews provided, the overall infrastructure of Amity University Mumbai is mixed. Some reviewers found the facilities to be average, while others praised the good quality of infrastructure.

Review 1 mentions that the facilities provided by the campus and hostel are average, but notes that other universities charge more for similar qualifications. Review 2 describes all facilities as "very good, " including air-conditioned classrooms, hostel rooms with two beds and two tables and medical facilities available 24/7. Review 3 states that the infrastructure is good, with centralized ACs in classrooms and that the food quality is mediocre. Review 4 highlights the good quality of food in the canteen and mess, as well as the availability of sports facilities and a clinic on campus. Finally, Review 5 provides a detailed description of the infrastructure, mentioning that the classrooms are centrally air-conditioned, the library contains many valuable books and the hostel facilities are spacious and well-maintained. However, the reviewer notes that the psychology department does not have labs for experimentation and that the engineering and biotechnology departments have access to good labs.

In summary, the overall infrastructure of Amity University Mumbai appears to be good, with some facilities standing out as particularly impressive, such as the air-conditioned classrooms and hostel rooms, as well as the availability of sports facilities and a clinic on campus. However, some reviewers noted that certain facilities, such as the psychology department labs, may be lacking.

The university has top-class infrastructure.
Placements: The placements in college are very good with 100% of the students getting placed. The CRC (placement cell) has provided placements to a lot of students in reputable companies like Amazon, Mahindra Logistics, IBM, etc. The average salary package offered to the students is around 6-9 lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the campus is breath-taking with Wi-Fi facility available all over the place. All the classrooms here are AC equipped. The labs have all the necessary equipment needed for students. The hostel has Wi-Fi facility in each dorm, laundry service, a night canteen and a 24x7 clinic. Students can have a lot of sports activities on the campus with highly experienced coaches.
Faculty: The professors are highly qualified with a lot of work experience in their respective fields. They also provide one to one guidance if someone needs. They mostly use audio-visual methods to make learning fun. Teachers also provide PPTs, PDFs and other important notes to the students to help them understand the subject better.
Other: Events like Aminova, Technician, Sangathan and others keep students creative and reduce the stress of studies. The crowd here is all over from India as well as from out of India. Even though the campus is surrounded by forest, it feels safe when on campus.

Amity, Mumbai is not worth it and it is too far inland.
Placements: The placement cell does its job well, and a lot of my seniors got placed. The internships are good and are given in reputable companies. It is not Google and Microsoft type placements, and it is more like Red Chillies, and Viacom 18 type. We even have a WhatsApp group solely dedicated to it.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are big and fully lit, and each classroom has a projector. The library has a great view. The canteen food is average. They are still building up the place, so there is a lot of construction noise. The lifts are not functioning. The campus is kept clean and tidy.
Faculty: The curriculum is given up front and easy to understand. Some faculty members are experienced(those who won't rest until you understand a topic), but most of them are just not bothered(all their aim is to finish off the curriculum fast). Audio-visual method is mostly used for teaching. There is a limited faculty.
Other: You won't get 80% of the bank holidays. There are a lot of extracurricular activities. The college fest is excellently well-planned, and it is fun. The campus crowd is great. The transportation is horrible, and the campus is too far for day-scholars.
