The BTech degree program is designed to offer depth in civil engineering technicalities along with the flexibility to select elective courses that meet students' interests and expose them to the breadth of civil engineering specialties. As majority of people know that in Amrita, it is purely veterinarian food that is supplied everywhere in the campuses. Consider having non-veg food in Amrita University as illegal, as it is prohibited. But the food over here is veggies that anyone can adjust within the limit. Morning breakfast will be idli sambar, dosa sambar, pongal, read utter and jam, green peas curry and much combos like that. Lunch will be pricey, dal curry, sambar, pappad, with so many other side dishes to have. The dinner will be chappathi and there'll be a price and curry, and then salad. Tea and milk will be provided in between, but there is no coffee in Amritapuri Campus as every other Amrita Campuses provide the same, in my knowledge. The taste of curries that they provide will be the same in everyday with any change. But it's okay for a normal student to adjust with.

Some helpful tips for students starting their first year are:Students should get some knowledge about the campus and the atmosphere of the campus.They should be able to connect with others nicely.Mainly they should interact with seniors and get ideas from them about academics.Students should think about the planning of time table of day.You have to score good CGPA in first year itself because the syllabus will be of 12th class, so please score a good CGPA.From second year onwards the subjects will be some what difficult so that CGPA may decrease.Should keep track of assignments and project works also.Should participate in events actively and get integrated with everybody and make them good friends.Try to Interact with faculty members also so that they will help you with projects.There will be more time in first year so you can utilise that time for gaining skills.
