In Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham - Chennai Campus, the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is calculated based on a grading system that considers both the grades obtained in individual courses and the credit hours assigned to each course.Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham follows a 10-point grading system, where grades are assigned on a scale from 10 (Outstanding) to 4 (Pass). Each course in the curriculum is assigned a certain number of credit hours, which typically represents the workload and academic value of the course. The credit hours indicate the time spent in the classroom, laboratory. To calculate the CGPA, the total grade points earned across all courses are divided by the total credit hours attempted. The formula is as follows:CGPA = Total Grade Points / Total Credit HoursThe CGPA is usually rounded off to two decimal places. The CGPA is cumulative, meaning it takes into account all the courses attempted throughout the academic program. As students progress through semesters or years, their CGPA is updated to reflect their performance in all completed courses.

First of all, you should familarize with the college campus and the atmosphere over there. Then the next thing you can, is to connect and mingle with seniors and before all, the teachers and faculties. There will be an orientationprogrammefor atleat a week after the beginning of the course where they won't teach anything, but we can utilise that time for familarising with everyone and everything over the campus. It is so crucial to take care of ourselves as a college life can be demanding. We can have nutritious food, exercise daily and also have a sufficient sleep. Don't forget to keep track of the assignments, works, homework, and other activities given to be done. And at last, enjoy the experience as college life is a time of growth, to make good friends, and to create memories that might last for a life time.
