Hello Ashish,
Given below are some basic criteria one has to fulfil so as to get admission in Anna University. The basic eligibility criteria for both the courses is that one needs to have passed HSC Examination or equivalent from any recognised education board. Admission to both the courses are made through entrance test. There are separate entrance tests for the courses. The selection of candidates for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission TNEA 2018 will be based on the marks obtained in the prescribed subjects reduced to 200 (Mathematics 100, Physics + Chemistry 100 in the qualifying examination). Qualifying Examinations & Eligibility
Clearing the minimum cut-off in Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission TNEA exam. You should visit the college website regularly so as to get regular updates of the exam as registration for test starts from 1st May 2019.

Well, for 2018, the eligibility score in B.Tech from biotechnology for GATE exam is 38.9 for general category, 35.0 for OBC category and 25.9 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. On the other hand, for TANCET there are different eligibilities for different courses if you are going to opt after B.Tech. For example, if you want to give TANCET to qualify for M.Tech in biotechnology, then the eligibility criteria is to pass in Bachelors degree with atleast 50% and 45% in case of reserved categories. Also, people except from professional institutions are eligible for TANCET in their final year or last semester.

Hello Trina,
SSN College of Engineering follows the guidelines by Anna University for admission in engineering colleges. Here the admissions are given based on guidelines issued by Anna University for 65% of the total intake and is based on the marks obtained in 12th standard by the Tamil Nadu Board of students who are to domiciled in Tamil Nadu. The remaining seats are distributed under different categories. But these too are filled up based on merit of 12th marks only. According to NIRF, Anna University is among top 50 colleges of India including IITS, NIITS etc. So, I think Anna University is good option to be chosen.
