The highest package offered during Anna University placements 2022 stood at INR 36.50 LPA whereas the highest package offered during VIT Chennai placements 2023 was INR 59 LPA. Moreover, when compared according to the BTech fees, VIT Chennai BTech fees range between INR 4.87 Lacs - INR 7.8 Lacs whereas the Anna University BTech fees range between INR 17.82 K - INR 13 lakh. Further, VIT Chennai is re-accredited by NAAC with an ‘A+’ grade whereas Anna University is accredited with an "A" Grade by the NAAC.

A minimum of 50% in 10+2 is required for admission to Anna University's BE programme, in addition to taking the TNEA. Graduates in BE typically earn between 4.5 and 5.5 LPA, with the potential to reach 8 LPA. For BE/BTech admission, Anna University does not accept JEE Main marks; instead, admission is determined by TNEA counselling. Backward class students at Anna University are granted a 15% reservation in BE, along with other waivers for fee and minimum mark relaxations. Because of its breadth and employment prospects, biomedical engineering is the most popular engineering department at Anna University. For Tamil Nadu students, there is an additional cost reduction; nevertheless, verification of the residence certificate is necessary.

Generally, IITs are considered to be an edge above the College of Engineering, Anna University (CEG) in terms of several factors. However you can refer to the following comparisons:IITs: Enjoy a prestigious national and international reputation for excellence in engineering education and research. They are highly selective with a rigorous entrance exam. IITs have a larger pool of highly qualified faculty with research experience and international collaborations. CEG: While a well-respected institution, its reputation is primarily within Tamil Nadu. Nationally, it might not hold the same weight as IITs. Admission is based on performance in the TNEA entrance exam, which is generally considered less competitive. CEG has a competent faculty, but the number and research focus might be less extensive compared to IITs.
