The candidates can easily get into the College of Engineering, Anna University. You only have to score 95% + marks in the 10+2 classes from a recognized board. The Cutoff for the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions Exam (TNAE) is about 85% for the College. However, there is no entrance exam for admission to engineering courses at Anna University, and allotment is done on the basis of merit.

Apart from the BTech course, Anna University also offers a four-year full-time BE course at the undergraduate level. The University offers BE programme covering 17 specialisations. The University also offers a part-time BE programme in four specialisations. Anna University admission to BE (part-time) is completely merit-based and depends on candidates' performance in their last qualifying examination.
