Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) is not classified as a Tier 1 university. It is generally considered a regional or Tier 3 institution. Tier 1 universities are characterized by their global reputation, advanced research output, and high-ranking academic programs, often including institutions like IITs or NITs. On the other hand, AUS focuses on offering education in the North-Eastern region of India, emphasizing inclusivity and accessibility for students in remote areas. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and holds accreditations for its diverse range of programs, but it does not fall within the Tier 1 or Tier 2 categories commonly associated with premier institutions in India.

Getting admission to Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) is generally considered less competitive compared to more well-known institutions in India. The university offers a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, and Diploma programs with relatively flexible entry requirements. For undergraduate programs like B.Tech and BBA, candidates typically need to have completed their 10+2 education with the required subjects (like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for B.Tech) and a minimum aggregate score, often around 45% for general category candidates. Admission is usually based on merit, and some courses may have additional entrance exams or interviews depending on the program. The university also offers both online and offline admission processes, making it accessible for students. The process tends to be less stringent compared to more prestigious universities, and many students from the region are admitted with good academic standing. However, for certain professional programs like MBA and law courses, candidates may need to meet specific criteria or appear for entrance exams.

The MBA programme comprises business administration, from finance to marketing to HR and operations. The placements of the MBA students are pretty good.
