A little bit of ignorance by the faculty.
Placements: Some companies, like Loreal, Jio, and others, prefer to hire for jobs. And I think it is good for students. The placement is not good. As per NIRF Report 2023, a total of 480 students were placed out of 3,564 students, while 2,910 students were selected for higher studies during BHU UG 3-year placements 2022. The highest package of 2023 touched 38 LPA from MBA, while the average package stood at 11.3 LPA.
Infrastructure: Best infrastructure ever experienced with staying in a place where we need to go regularly for 3 years. And the hostel is good for the students with the better quality of food served. Hostels, transportation for students, 24 hour electricity and power supply, over 6 branches of nationalized banks, ATMs, 3 post offices, telephone exchange, railway reservation centre, and a lot of other facilities are there.
Faculty: Faculty is good but needs to increase the quality of management and other things. Also add BBA courses so that a larger number of students would join this university. The difficulty of a B.Com. course can vary depending on the student's interests and aptitude for the subjects. For example, if a student is interested in or has a natural aptitude for subjects like accounting, economics, and business law, the B.Com. syllabus may be straightforward for them.
Other: Best campus life with more environment-friendly. And there would be regular fests and events organised by the students.

Really excellent infrastructure, studies, facilities, sports sector, medical availability, etc.
Placements: 50% of students were placed in the B.Com (Hons) course last year, which is very good as this course is only a UG course. In other colleges, placement in the B.Com course is like zero percent. There are some of the best recruiting companies. All students got internships.
Infrastructure: Best Wi-Fi, best mess, best rooms, beautiful garden, wonderful environment, disciplined students or hostellers, 24/7 library open in my course and hostel. Sports, games, and medical facilities are the best compared to other universities. My university is also famous for its medical achievements.
Faculty: Teachers or professors are best recruited in my university. They are excellent in teaching and guidance. They are all well-qualified and knowledgeable. Semester exams are of a moderate level in my course as it is an undergraduate course. Pass percentages are 90 to 95%.
Other: Best medical institutions and facilities, and a reputed college in India.

    Absolutely dissatisfied because of.
Placements: The placements in my college are pretty decent, I would say. The percentage of students who got placed in my college mainly depends on the cutoff, their caste, and the number of students applying for the course. Companies like Deloitte, Byju, etc., visit the campus. As for the remaining questions, sorry, I don't have any correct knowledge.
Infrastructure: The commerce lab and classrooms are fine, the library is decent, I would say. I have no experience in PG and hostels. The campus is not good but not bad either. There is a lack of greenery in the campus, too many unwanted outsiders in the college, and no rules and regulations, etc. I had tried two fast food items from the college canteen, and they both were awful. It was really bad. No for canteen food from that time. Regarding medical facilities, I don't know. In terms of sports and games, there is an indoor auditorium in the college and a big ground (which has accountable trees) on the campus. It's decent, actually. Don't come with high expectations.
Faculty: I didn't get any fresher's fest, orientation, or festivals yet, but our 1st-semester exams are scheduled to start from the last week of this month. Honestly speaking, I am losing my last brain cell. I mean, what do they want from us? Seriously. Anyway, what can we do now? We aren't mentally prepared for the exams, especially I'm not.
Other: Decent feels. Extra curriculum. Nothing like that has happened yet, and I'm disappointed.

A good university where you can gain great experiences.
Placements: Don't have high hopes for placements. The placements are average. Work upon your skills and gain experience. As far as I remember, the highest package was 6 LPA, and it was this year. Last year it was 1.5 LPA, so don't hope for placements in the faculty.
Infrastructure: The hostel is quite good; the bathroom is dirty, the food is average, but the masti is full on. You will surely have a great experience in the hostel, but the sad part is that the hostel will be demolished and a new one will be built, and there will be no admission to the hostel for at least 4-5 years. My batch is the last one in the hostel. The classrooms are good, and the Wi-Fi is good. There are 2 libraries in our university: a central library and a cyber library. There is a health center specifically for students, and there are 2 hospitals open to the general public, but you don't have to pay for it; for students, it's free.
Faculty: See, this isn't school anymore, so you'll have to study on your own. Teachers will help you only if you ask them. There are some teachers who don't care whether the students understand what they are teaching or not. They will just come, do bak-bak, and go, but there are a few teachers who teach very well and also communicate with students to see if they understand what they have taught. But at last, you have to study on your own, and YouTube will be very helpful with it. Don't take too much pressure related to exams; you can easily pass even studying one day before the exam. However, if you want to maintain a good CGPA, then you have to study.
Other: Don't have high hopes for the events, fests, extracurricular activities, and others in our faculty because our faculty doesn't care about it. You should join groups where event tickets and competition links will be shared. Join societies; they will also help, and you will also have to search on your own for where you want to go.

Review of B.com(Honors) from Banaras Hindu University.
Placements: As we studied about data before, 10-15% students were placed by doing b.com from BHU, with an average salary package of 6,00,000 per annum, and to my knowledge, the highest package was 8,00,000. TCS is the major company that comes for campus placement and I don't know about others.
Infrastructure: Well, actually, this year no boys were allotted hostels due to construction work and before this year only 25-30% of students were able to get hostels allotted. The infrastructure is amazing and just needs regular maintenance for our faculty of commerce.
Faculty: Whatever we say, the interaction with teachers in this university is most like we interact with our teachers in our school period; they are very focused on clearing base and maintaining that the students are able to understand and also able to understand further important things. Assignments were very helpful. And overall experience is good.
Other: If I talk about myself, I'm a paid-seat student. I had paid 16,150 for a year. Value for money will be having a good placement, and campus life is not very interactive, but if we talk about faculty, they are experienced, and they're focused on increasing the capacity of students to not just for studies but also some clubs that are very supportive for the enhancement of talent of students.

    BHU is genuinely overrated.
Placements: Securing placements in this institution is challenging for most students, but it appears to be relatively easier for individuals belonging to the SC/ST categories. The prospects for good placements after completing B.Com. are limited. However, there are a diverse range of internship opportunities available. The professors are highly esteemed, with many having decades of teaching experience.
Infrastructure: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is renowned for its commendable infrastructure. The Computer Center is a notable facility, and there are well-equipped computer labs and libraries within each faculty. Health facilities, including a student health clinic and Sir Sunderlal Hospital, are easily accessible. The Central Library and a digital library contribute to extensive learning resources. Despite these facilities, exposure for students is considered lacking. Additionally, nearby attractions like Vishwanath Temple offer Banarasi snack options.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified, with backgrounds from prestigious institutions such as SRCC, IIMs, and individuals holding CA qualifications. The B.Com.. curriculum, however, may not adequately prepare students for the industry, necessitating additional professional courses for better readiness. Semester exams are of average difficulty, making them relatively easy to pass.
Other: The institution hosts very few events, and the overall student environment is perceived as not being conducive.

Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.Com courses at BHU?

    A:
    {Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Com Courses at BHU

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Com courses at BHU:

    * Limited Job Opportunities: Most students reported that the placement cell did not provide adequate job opportunities. Out of the total batch, only a handful of students managed to secure jobs through campus recruitment.
    * Companies That Visit: While some reputed companies like Wipro and Bajaj do visit the campus, the number of recruiters is limited.
    * Placement Percentage: According to the reports, the placement percentage for B.Com students is relatively low, with only about 1-2% of students securing jobs through campus recruitment.
    * Salary Packages: Even when students do manage to secure jobs, the salary packages tend to be modest, ranging from INR1-2 Lacs per annum.
    * Lack of Initiative: Some students felt that the placement cell lacked initiative in organizing internship opportunities, which could have prepared them better for the job market.
    * Better Options Exist: Several students suggested that pursuing higher education or opting for alternative career paths might be more beneficial due to the limited job opportunities in the field.

Overall, while BHU does offer some job opportunities through its placement cell, the success rate is relatively low compared to other institutions. It appears that students may need to explore additional options to achieve their career goals.

Q:   Is B.Com at BHU worth the investment?

    A:
    {Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's what we can conclude:

    Placement Opportunities:
    * Only 5-10% of students get placed through the campus placement drive, while around 60% opt for further education.
    * Salary packages vary, with the highest being 9 LPA and the lowest being 2.5 LPA.
    * Companies like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon occasionally recruit students.
    * Off-campus placements are scarce, and students struggle to find suitable employment.

    Course Curriculum:
    * The course curriculum is outdated and lacks practical knowledge.
    * Some students feel that the course does not equip them with industry-ready skills.

    Infrastructure and Facilities:
    * The college has good infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, a cyber library, and well-maintained hostels.
    * The campus is spread across 1300 acres, providing ample space for students.

    Faculty:
    * Professors are highly qualified, but some might not be enthusiastic about taking classes.
    * Teaching quality is average, but students can excel with proper effort.

    Campus Life:
    * Festivals like Kashiyatra and Splash are exciting events that bring together students from various departments.
    * Sports facilities are available, but not exceptional.

Considering these factors, it's essential to weigh the pros and cons carefully before investing in the B.Com programme at BHU. While the college provides a good educational foundation, the lack of practical training and limited placement opportunities might affect career prospects. It's crucial for prospective students to assess their goals and priorities before making a decision.
