BHU has become more vibrant and inclusive since the time co-education was introduced in its Faculty of Social Science and Faculty of Arts. While the IIT-BHU still has a more conservative culture, BHU offers its students more freedom and facilities.Throughout the year, BHU caters to a variety of extra-curricular activities, including seminars of top and eminent speakers, dance, singing, and poetry performances. The lush green campus and impressive infrastructure, including the cafeteria, library, and clubs, provide students with ample opportunities to learn and grow.Food quality at BHU is average, especially in the Faculty of Arts and Social Science. However, students are free to eat at any mess, regardless of their hostel. The cost of a general diet is INR 40 - 45 per day, and the cost of a special diet (served twice a week) is INR 50 - 90 per day. Students with friends at IIT have access to higher quality food.Despite only accommodating 30 - 40% of its students in hostels, BHU is the largest residential university in Asia, with over 70 hostels. Students ranked under 300 - 400 are easily inducted into hostels.Check below for more reviews by BHU students about the university:
