Q:   Is it worth pursuing B.A. at Cluster University of Jammu?

    A:
    {Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from current students and alumni, here's what we found:

    * Teaching Quality: Unfortunately, many students reported that the teachers are not helpful, poorly trained, and the quality of teaching is low.

    * Curriculum: The curriculum is not industry-ready, and exams have unpredictable schedules, making it challenging for students to manage.

    * Placement Opportunities: According to most students, there are almost no placement opportunities for B.A. graduates, and those who do get placed typically receive offers ranging from INR2-INR5 Lakh per annum.

    * Infrastructure: The academic block is outdated, with inadequate facilities, including non-airconditioned classrooms. Hostel rooms lack proper internet connectivity.

    * Campus Life: Social life on campus is minimal, with no festivals, fairs, or farewell events. Students have limited recreational options.

It appears that while the university may offer some positives, such as a large campus and decent hostels, these drawbacks significantly outweigh the benefits. Therefore, it's essential to consider alternative options when deciding whether to pursue a B.A. at Cluster University of Jammu.

If you're interested in studying B.A., it's crucial to weigh the pros and cons carefully and explore other colleges and institutions offering similar programs. Remember to prioritize factors like teaching quality, curriculum relevance, and placement opportunities to ensure a fulfilling educational experience.

    Reality of Cluster University, Jammu.
Placements: There are zero percent chances of getting placed through the college as the college invites no recruiting companies in the campus. None of my batchmates have been placed in any company, all of them are waiting for the government to offer them jobs to live their lives in a good way.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the academics block of the college is below average as the building was built in 90s and no renovation was done to the building thereafter. The classrooms got no AC or proper fans making it hard for the students to study during summers. Hostels of the college are newly constructed but lack proper internet facility. Besides this, the college also lacks proper smart classes.
Faculty: The teachers are not helpful at all. They are not properly trained and the quality of teaching in this college is very low. The curriculum of the college is not going to make you industry ready. The exams have no fixed schedule and the college conducts exam regularly making it hard for the students to manage.
Other: I have taken B.A. as my course because it’s very helpful for exams such as UPSC and state PCS. Also, I love reading about our history. Talking about the social life at the campus, it's literally zero. The college organizes no fest and they don’t have any kind of farewell or freshers, so all you can do here is study, that too with a lack of infrastructure.

I am not satisfied with its teachers, placements, and environment but the infrastructure is fine.
Placements: There was no placement in our college. No MNCs visit our college for recruitment. Paid internships were also not offered. There was no exposure at all. Many students leave this course in the mid and switch to other universities.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi was available. We did not have access to our mobile data properly because of a poor connection. Classrooms were well-structured. The chairs and tables were good. There were no curtains in our classrooms which made it hard for the students in extreme weather conditions, especially in summer. The library was not spacious in this college.
Faculty: The teaching quality was not good. Teachers were not cooperative and involved in politics. You got marks based on how well you treat and greet them. The pass percentage was good, but the overall percentage goes where the students were sugar-coated. The difficulty level of exams was moderate. But an average student might face hardship attempting some questions since the teaching and the questions in the exams do not align.
Other: I chose this course because there was no good exposure. I would get into the journalism sector via this course but I am not satisfied. There was no best thing about this course, and I regret choosing this course. Literature from various countries was taught in this course. I like literature and poetry otherwise there was no best thing. Events and fests were not good. We celebrate events that include singing, dancing, quizzes, poetry, etc. No picnics were organised for 3 years and nothing will come in the future as well.

Teachers of our college were highly experienced.
Placements: In our college around hardly 30% students get placements every year. Most of the students opt for higher education. Very few companies visit our college for the placements. Some of the media houses and news agencies visit our college. Average package offered in our course was 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: Our college has a very beautiful campus. Infrastructure is very well maintained and fully developed. College management offered various facilities to its students. The entire college campus has Wi-Fi connectivity. Classrooms of the college were spacious enough and fully air-conditioned. Food of the hostel mess was too good to eat.
Faculty: Yes, Teachers of our college were highly qualified and knowledgeable. Teachers were very supportive and helping students with all possible resources. Course curriculum was relevant and updated recently. Exams of our college were very easy to pass. Various types of extra activities were organized by the teachers.

Our college has good and well-qualified teachers.
Placements: Our college does not provide placements for our course. After the completion of our course, students can apply for internships or jobs on Internshala.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not much good. Our B.A. building is not good. Our college has a library. Wi-Fi is not available in our college. Smart classrooms are available in our college. The hostel is average. Our college has a canteen. The food served in the canteen is not hygienic.
Faculty: Teachers are very much helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They teach us well. Most of them are NET JRF and Ph.D. holders. Semester exams are easy if you study the syllabus briefly.
Other: I opted for this course because I have an interest in economics. This course is helpful for students who are preparing for the UPSC exam. This course lacks practical knowledge, so our college should provide practical knowledge to students. Our college admissions are based on the merit list. If you want to make your career in economics or have plans to clear the UPSC exam, this course is the best.
