Right? I am afraid it's not possible. It's like changing college midway in a course.

DTU offers B.Tech evening and B.Tech lateral entry programs in civil, mechanical, electrical and ECE. The admission are based on performance in Common Entrance Exam. So you may choose anyone programme i.e; B.Tech evening or lateral.

Can you specify which institute exactly you are talking about, and also your rank and category because these things matter.

Delhi Technological University indeed offers lateral entry for B.Tech in different branches but the websites clearly says the eligibility as Diploma in any branch of engineering or its equivalent as given by Delhi University for different universities. Now whether 3 years Diploma is equivalent to B.Sc. Or not in a moot point. Actually, some States have deemed B.Sc. As the eligible condition for lateral admission in engineering along with Diploma holders but B.Sc cannot be declared as deemed to be equivalent to Diploma. I am attaching link that will give you all the information. I suggest to approach DTU directly for seeking concession for students like you who have done B.Sc. And all now interested in taking admission via lateral route for solving your query.
