Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology (RAIT) was founded in 1983 under the patronage of the Ramrao Adik Education Society. Admission to the PhD programme at Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology is based upon a two-step process comprising an entrance test and a subsequent interview. However, candidates who possess qualifications such as UGC-NET (including JRF), CSIR NET (including JRF), SLET, GATE, teacher fellowship score, or have completed the MPhil Program are exempted from the entrance exam. Nonetheless, they are still required to participate in a Personal Interview (PI).

The selection process at RAIT for BTech is entirely entrance-based. Students are required to qualify JEE Main with a valid score to secure a seat for BTech at Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology.  RAIT selects students based on their rank in JEE Main (Paper 1) or score in MHTCET.

RAIT's M.Tech admission process relies solely on the entrance exam. To secure a seat for M.Tech at Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology, students must qualify in the GATE with a valid score. The final admission to the M.Tech programme is determined based on the GATE scores achieved by the candidates.

There are five distinct specializations available for BTech students at Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology: Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication, and Electronics and Information Technology. Additionally, the institute provides sub-specializations within each BTech specialisation.

The placement report for the year 2023 is yet to be released by Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology.
