GITAM, Visakhapatnam is a good place to be. If you are really interested in studies you have the whole library with very good books for you. If you are not interested in studies you have the whole city to enjoy. Visakhapatnam is heaven on earth.
Placements: better not to be very optimistic about core companies. CSE IT get good amount of companies. Mechanical electrical civil. Same old story. Just 10% get placed in a core company. Same is the situation everywhere.
Faculty: just like any other institute in the world, some professors are fabulous and some are not any better than to take attendance. According to me it's the student who has to work. Attendance issue: you are expected to have 75% attendance but generally they do not care and let you write the exams.
Sports: professional facilities are present but at a cost. You generally don't see people playing regularly. It's just before the events, the people make a team and start playing.

Dear Sainath, both institutions are good. However, if you still want a clarification, then you can go for GITAM. It has a good set up and the faculty is also good. Wherever you go, you need to be focused on your course completely. As it is your scorecard that will open up the doors for your future. I hope this would suffice. All the best.
