LPU has been ranked in the top 100 private universities by many outer agencies such as Business Today, golden star awards, Digital learning, zee news, etc. More than 600 companies visit every year for various industry-academia activities and campus recruitment of students from LPU

The main concern of every student and their parents is the job and LPU fulfills that requirement. According to the placement data of 2019-20 LPU has given jobs to 90% of their students appearing in the interview. Even in 2020-21 placement record was up to 72% considering the lockdown situation and rising cases of corona patients, LPU has delivered its promise. The LPU offers a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic Science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem-solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal, etc. Specialisation. The Eligibility Criteria is (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics Mathematics, and English or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants)
The course aims at enabling the student to Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learnings from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics, and computational skills and tools. He should have the ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology. He should acquire the Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using a basic understanding of Thermodynamics Heat transfer, and Fluid Mechanics. He should demonstrate the ability to propose cost-effective optimized solutions using simulated environments of Computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and computer-aided engineering. The highest salary package offered to mechanical branch students is 31 LPA, while the average salary is 4.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Bosch, ONGC, Ashok Leyland, Hitachi, etc.
