The allotment of hostel seats in Government College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu, is majorly based on availability. Preference would be given to students from outside the city. The hostel accommodation provided is shared and either a two- or three-student-per-room accommodation. The allotment process is pretty simple, but due to limited capacity, all may not get a hostel seat immediately. The Institute has a provision for a Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme. Under this scheme, students are admitted based on their merit and financial background. With a rank of 231, the student stands a chance to get a seat under TFWS in Civil Engineering at GCET Jammu, subject to the cutoffs for that year and the number of TFWS seats available. For these, the applicant must consult the college official admission notices or the Admissions Office for the latest and most accurate information.
