Yes, it is possible. The eligibility criteria for PG admission at the university is such that candidates should have secured a graduation degree from a recognised college/university.
Note: Aspirants are advised to thoroughly go through the eligibility criteria as mentioned by GU for the course in which they wish to secure admission.
Candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/MOBC) will be given marks relaxation of up to 5%. However, sons and daughters of permanent GU employees will be given marks relaxation of up to 10% in entrance test marks.

Reservation for Permanent Residents of Assam-
Scheduled Caste:

Scheduled Tribes (Plains)

Scheduled Tribes (Hills)

OBC & MOBC

Other Reservations
1) Total 3% of the total seats for each faculty (Arts, Science, and Commerce) will be kept reserved for Differently Abled students.
2) For sons and daughters of permanent GU Employees - one seat is kept reserved in each of the departments with intake capacity 40 or less and two seats in each of those departments with more than 40 intake capacity provided such candidates fulfill eligibility criteria.
3) Total 10 (ten) seats are kept reserved for the students under fringe villages, viz., GARIGAON, SADIUPUR, SUNDARBARI and KATIADAUMMG whose parents are permanent residents in the above village(s) since 1950.
4) Five seats are reserved for the sons and daughters of permanent GU Ex-employees.
5) Seats reserved for sons and daughters of ex-defence personnel as per E.C. resolution.
6) 20% of the seats in each department is allowed to the candidates of other universities on the basis of an admission test
Admission Process:
Candidates can secure admission in courses offered at Gauhati University on the basis of an entrance exam which is of 100 marks and two hours duration.
