Yes, candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 12 to apply for HPU BA programme. Below is detailed eligibility:Candidates need to pass Class 12 or an equivalent exam in four written subjects (including English) with at least 33% aggregate or,Candidates seeking admission to BA with Mathematics as one of the subjects of study, should have either 45% marks in aggregate or 45% aggregate in Mathematics at Class 12.Aspirants who have completed pre-university examination (two years) or an examination recognised equivalent thereto (pass in four subjects, one language and three elective subjects) with 33% aggregate can apply.Candidates who have passed any examination of a University/ Board/ College or School in a foreign country recognised as equivalent with at least 33% aggregate or BA/ BSc/ BCom Part-I of the old three-year degree course can also apply.Aspirants who have completed Class 12 examination (academic stream) conducted by the HP Board of School Education (or in case of Shastri, pass in Prak Shastri from Sanskrit Colleges affiliated to the HPU) or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the various bodies of the HP University can also apply.

MBA is one of the popular courses of Himachal Pradesh University. The in-depth detailed curriculum, low fee and placement opportunities are some of the highlighting points of the course. The fee for HPU MBA course ranges between INR 4,800 and INR 1.4 lakh. The university conducts placement drive every year. Companies such as Paytm, Amazon, IBM and Cars24 among others visited the campus for placements and Internships. The university recorded 80% hiring rate during placements 2022.

 Below is the age criteria for candidates applying for BAMS at HPU:He/ She must complete age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the first year BAMS course.The upper age limit is 25 years as on the date of examination with relaxation of five years for candidates belonging to OBC-NCL/SC/ST category and Persons entitled for reservation under the Right of persons with Disabilities Act 2016. 

Himachal Pradesh University is recognised by UGC and NAAC. Also, HPU has a total of 7 institutes which include the Department of Evening Studies, HPU Business School, University Institute of Technology, HPU College of Business Studies, University Institute of Legal Studies, Institute of Tribal Studies, Institute of Vocational Studies. Since, it is a public state university, the programme fee is very less. Taking admission in HPU will also provide placement opportunities to students. According to Himachal Pradesh University NIRF report 2024, the median package offered during HPU Shimla BTech and MBA placements 2023 stood at INR 4 LPA and INR 5.5 LPA, respectively.
