The Ph.D. programme requires at least a post-graduate degree to be admitted. Both the conventional course and the remote learning option for the Ph.D. are available. You must have a PG grade of at least 50%. The course lasts for three years, and the tuition is Rs. 16800.

The eligibility criteria for B.Com. at IGNOU is as follows:The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.The candidate should have studied English as a compulsory subject in 10+2 or equivalent examination.The candidate should have registered for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and passed at least one CPT examination. This is applicable only for those who want to pursue B.Com. with Major in Accountancy and Finance (BAF) or B.Com. with Major in Corporate Affairs and Administration (BCCA).The candidate should have a valid IGNOU Student ID card.The admission to B.Com. at IGNOU is done through online mode. The candidate has to fill an online application form on the official website of IGNOU and pay the application fee of Rs. 200. The candidate has to submit the required documents, such as mark sheets, certificates, CPT score card, etc., along with the application form. The candidate has to choose the regional centre and the study centre of his/her preference. The admission confirmation will be sent to the candidate through email or SMS after the verification of the documents and the availability of seats.The fee structure for B.Com. at IGNOU is Rs. 8,400 for three years. The fee can be paid in two installments of Rs. 4,200 each at the time of admission and re-registration.

IGNOU students belonging to reserved categories, such as Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), are eligible for fee exemption or reimbursement from IGNOU. However, all of it depends on the IGNOU university scholarship rules and regulations. Additionally, all these students are eligible for government scholarships as well.

Students of IGNOU can collect the scholarship forms from the Directorate of Social Welfare (DSE) or the office of the Social Welfare Officer (SWO) in their state, fill them out, and submit them to the Regional Director at the Regional Centre where they are admitted/registered for the programme. In the next step, the Regional Director will then certify the forms. After certification, the students can collect the forms from the Regional Centre and resubmit them to the Social Welfare Officer or Directorate of Social Welfare in their state for scholarship or reimbursement of programme fees.
