Compared to IIT Delhi (IITD), IIT Bombay (IITB) has a better campus and is situated in a more esteemed neighbourhood. While Powai and Hauz Khas are both affluent neighbourhoods, Powai is distinguished by its superior quality. IITB and IITD have comparable research scopes, however IITB has an advantage due to its higher number of publications and patents. QS states that IITB has a superior "Employer Reputation." IITs lead the way in research money and resources, closely followed by NITs and IIITs. While IIITs are more focused on computer Science and information technology, IITs and NITs are more focused on traditional engineering subjects.

Comparing the MBA programs at SJSOM IIT Bombay and IIM Ahmedabad reveals significant distinctions favoring IIM Ahmedabad. IIM Ahmedabad, established as a premier management institution, consistently ranks among the top business schools in India and globally, renowned for its rigorous curriculum, distinguished faculty, and vast alumni network. Its strong industry connections and high placement records attract top-tier recruiters, offering graduates superior career prospects. While SJSOM IIT Bombay also boasts a reputable MBA programme with a focus on integrating management with technology, and strong ties to the engineering domain, it generally doesn't match the prestige and extensive opportunities provided by IIM Ahmedabad. Consequently, for students prioritizing broad managerial expertise and elite placement opportunities, IIM Ahmedabad is typically the better choice.
