I think it depends on whether you would like to do Masters in a more respectable field like Computer Science where upon the salary and the job would both be incredible. If you take Chemical you won't be able to take your Masters course in other field where the demand and growth is there. But if you take Chemical and do some online course on computers you will be get a very good software job but it will become very difficult to do Masters or go abroad. So, it's your choice.

As per the year 2019-20 placement statistics of IIT-B for 2 year M.Sc in biotechnology. Total 13 students has been participated in placement. Out of which 7 students get placed with 53.85% of students participated in placement.

Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) is to assess the candidates aptitude for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, and problem solving skills. CEED is conducted by IIT Bombay. It is a qualifying examination for admission to Master of Design (MDes) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur and IIITDM Jabalpur, and to Ph.D programmes in Design at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur.
Eligibility : Candidates must have completed a degree / diploma / post graduate degree programme of
minimum 3 years (after 10+2 level), or must be appearing for the final examination of such a program by July 2021, or must have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2021.
The eligibility criteria of M.Des courses of IDC IIT Mumbai is Bachelors Degree in Design/ Engineering/ Architecture/ Interior Design: 10+2+4 years (minimum four year Bachelors course). So B.Com completed students are not eligible for these programs.

Des + M.Des will be available only at the end of the 3rd year. Both these programmes would be credit - based and thus offer the flexibility to progress at one's own pace. A minimum level of performance is essential for satisfactory progress. The medium of instruction is English. The B. Des courses are available in the following specializations as Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Interaction Design, Animation and Mobility and Vehicle Design. The admission in IDC IIT-B in B. Des courses are based on the ranks obtained in UCEED entrance exam. The eligibility criteria of UCEED is 10+2 and conducted in the month of January every year.
