Generally, people in civil engineering in IIT Bombay sit for placements in IT companies or they go for an MBA or higher studies. The tag IIT Bombay, rarely helps during placements (yes, that's the reality). It is all your hard work that would matter after you get placed in the core field.
Average placements for IIT Bombay Civil is 7 lakhs per year. And all your future in this stream will depend on how you perform in practicality. If you do good, your pay scale will rise.

to get admission in any of the IIT you need to clear some exams like IIT JEE for the long term programs and GATE for the Post graduation. There may be some certificate programs available but for that eligibility based on program to program.
