A:
Based on ratings and reviews from current and former students, IIT Delhi is considered to have better hostel facilities and amenities compared to IIT Bombay. The hostels at IIT Delhi are known for their cleanliness, spacious rooms, and well-maintained common areas. The campus also has various sports facilities, gymnasiums, and recreation rooms, which are highly appreciated by the students. Environment beauty. The company of students that we get is out of the world.
Placements: At IIT Delhi, top companies from core, consulting, tech, and finance backgrounds recruit students. Placements begin in the 7th semester. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, and Flipkart come for recruitment. The average package is around 12-14 lakhs, with the highest reaching even 1-2 crores INR.
Infrastructure: The hostels have an older construction but are well-maintained. They provide basic furniture, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a 24/7 electricity supply. The food quality in the mess is average, with the menu fixed weekly.
Faculty: The course content is highly comprehensive and detailed, covering all the essential core concepts. Some content could be updated to current industry standards. Exams are frequent and challenging, requiring regular study. Student-teacher interaction is engaging and informative.
Other: IIT Delhi offers a good faculty-to-student ratio, making faculty members quite approachable and supportive. Coursework is very tough, including regular tests, midterms, and end-of-term exams. The curriculum could be improved in terms of real-world relevance.

Amazing faculty, infrastructure, placements, extracurriculars, peer group.
Placements: 70-80 percent of the students were placed in my course, and most of them got a package above 10 LPA. The top recruiting companies were from all domains like tech, consultancy, non-tech core, and most of the companies had a decent package to offer.
Infrastructure: The academic infrastructure of my college is just top-notch and world-class, and everything is quite new. The hostel infrastructure is also very good, with a good mess, gym, indoor TT, dance room, TV room, etc. There is a shop right next to my hostel.
Faculty: The curriculum is top-class, and the teachers are so experienced in their respective fields and domains of interest. The exams are not very difficult if you pay attention in the classes, do the tutorials on time, and clear all your doubts regularly.
Other: I was really interested in mechanical engineering and want to pursue my Masters from Germany. The events and fests are awesome, and the campus surroundings are great.

Good college based on good infrastructure and brand name.
Placements: During the first year, students are not placed. There are many for recruiting companies for mechanical department like Tata group, Mahindra Group, etc. Roles are different in different field of companies for example, design, production, marketing, sales management, consulting engineering, etc. The highest package offered was 40 LPA, and the minimum was 8 LPA. Right now, in my first year, there are no internships.
Infrastructure: There are very good facilities available, like 24/7 Wi-Fi, which is limited but enough if you want to do anything. Labs are pretty much clean and machines are also the newest. Classrooms are also very neat and clean. They are fully air-conditioned and a good environment is present in the classroom. Some classrooms are small, big and then the biggest.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are well qualified and very helpful. If you have any doubts, you are free to ask. If you want to do a project, that can also be done with the professors during long holidays. The teaching quality is extremely good. These things are pretty much good for students and make them industry-ready. Semester exams are not that difficult; if one studies a bit, you might get good marks. The pass percentage is around 95%.
Other: Based on my interest, I pursued this course. The best thing is that they provide you with interactive sessions online and offline. This course is already good but students must be encouraged to learn, as most of them want to go into the IT sector. There are many fests continuously occurring in college that are pretty good to take part in, like technical and cultural fests.

IIT Delhi: The dream of JEE aspirants.
Placements: I'm pursuing a BTech in mechanical engineering. The placements are decent. It is not necessary for us to choose only a particular field. Approximately 75% of people were placed last year. The highest package goes in crores, and the lowest being 7 lakhs. HUL, ITCC, and JLR are the top recruiting companies.
Infrastructure: All facilities are available, including a gym, library, and sports facilities. We have common rooms in all hostels. We have a swimming pool, tennis courts, and Mittal sports complex. We also have a student activity centre where there are dance clubs, music clubs, and many more diverse clubs.
Faculty: Professors are qualified and the course curriculum is relevant. Exams are not that difficult. It is easy to pass the courses. Its just that they are not much of my interest. I don't enjoy them much. The teachers are helpful and qualified. The pass percentage varies; it could be 30% or even less than that.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted it. Had the course been more interesting, it would be better. Fest is amazing.

Great infrastructure and facilities, but faculty and placements need improvement.
Placements: Total 87.69% students were placed. The packages offered were 1 crore (highest), 10 Lacs (lowest) and 36 Lacs (average). Top recruiting companies for our course- Goldman, TCS, Infosys, Ford motors, H&M. 80% students got internship from our course in companies like WorldQuant- A quant researcher internship, Uber- A software engineer internship and Apollo 24/7: An operations management internship. Top job roles offered in our course are Mechanical Design Engineer: Design, develops, and tests mechanical systems and components; Manufacturing Engineer: Plans and oversees the manufacturing process for mechanical products; Automotive Engineer: Design, develops, and tests vehicles and their components, Aerospace Engineer: Design, develops, and tests aircraft and spacecraft, Maintenance Engineer: Optimize the functions of equipment and machineries to ensure that they are working as required and Nuclear Engineer: Responsible for the smooth functioning of a nuclear power plant. Other roles for mechanical engineers include: Production Engineer, Quality Control Engineer, Process Engineer, Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Renewable Energy Consultant, Mechanical Device Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, Process Development Engineer and Electro-Mechanical Engineer.
Infrastructure: -Wi-Fi facilities in labs, classrooms and library are completely perfect. Everything is very well maintained but hostels are not well maintained and are in a poor condition. - the quality of everything in our hostel varies from poor to average level, -Excellent course infrastructure but limited resources for extracurricular activities.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable but do not teach properly. IIT Delhi courses have L-T-P structure, which indicates the number of hours for lectures, tutorials, and practical per week. For example, a 3-1-2 course has three hours of lectures, one hour of tutorials, and two hours of practical per week.
Other: I chose it because the education is more practical than theoretical. RDV is the biggest fest at our college and it is just amazing.

Hi Pranav, SAT is not required for Indian applicants, so there is no need to stress over it. If you do take a score of 1450 is good. Check the application requirements on the websites. For Indian applicants JEE is the requirement.

No, it is not possible. IITs in no case provides lateral admission to anyone, not even accepts a college transfer from any institute even if it is an IIT. The only means you can get admitted into B.Tech programme of IIT is by appearing in JEE Mains followed by JEE Advanced.

The admission in any of the IITs is strictly based on the rank secured in JEE advanced examination. If your rank is good, then you can get mechanical engineering at IIT Delhi. If you have not given the JEE Mains and Advanced then you cannot get admission.
