The admission process at IIT Delhi can vary depending on the programme you are applying for. However, I can provide you with a general overview of the admission process at IIT Delhi for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.Undergraduate Programs (B.Tech):Entrance Exam: The first step in the admission process for undergraduate programs at IIT Delhi is to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and serves as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced.JEE Advanced: Candidates who qualify the JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is conducted by one of the IITs on a rotational basis. It is a more specialised and competitive exam that tests the candidates' knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.Counseling and Seat Allotment: Based on the JEE Advanced ranks, candidates are called for counseling and seat allotment. The counseling process is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). During counseling, candidates can choose their preferred branch and institute based on their rank and availability of seats.Postgraduate Programs (M.Tech, Ph.D., etc.):Entrance Exam: For most postgraduate programs at IIT Delhi, candidates are required to appear for an entrance exam. The entrance exam can vary depending on the program. Some common entrance exams include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM), Common Admission Test (CAT), etc.Application and Shortlisting: After the entrance exam, candidates need to fill out the application form for the specific programme they are interested in. The application form typically includes personal details, educational qualifications, statement of purpose, and other relevant information. Based on the applications received, candidates are shortlisted for further selection rounds.Selection Rounds: The selection rounds can include a written test, interview, and/or group discussion, depending on the programme and department. These rounds are conducted to assess the candidates' knowledge, skills, and suitability for the program.Final Selection: After the selection rounds, the final selection is made based on the candidates' performance in the entrance exam, selection rounds, and other criteria specified by the department. The selected candidates are then offered admission to the program.
