IIT Delhi have a policy of not disclosing higher salary packages offered during placement drives. However, according to a press release released earlier, more than 50 students were offered salary package above INR 1 Crore per Annum during placements 2023.

At end of IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25, a total of 1,200 offers were made and 1,150 students were placed. In addition, more than 50 international offers were made during IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25. The International offers came from more than 15 organisations across multiple global regions including Netherlands, Japan, UAE, South Korea, Taiwan, United States and United Kingdom.

According to the official report, Consulting sector recorded 10% placement distribution during IIT Delhi placements 2024. The top recruiting sector was Core (Technical) sector that placed 38.6% of the total students during IIT Delhi placement 2024.

A total of 1,200 offers were made and 1,150 students were placed during the Phase 1 of IIT Delhi placements 2025. Further, more than 50 international offers were made during IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25.According to Engineering NIRF report 2024, the median package offered during BTech placements 2023, 2022 and 2021 stood at INR 20 LPA, INR 20.5 LPA and INR 17.6 LPA, respectively.According to unofficial sources, the placement rate recorded during IIT Delhi BTech placements 2023 was 90.01%.

The admissions to the MTech programmes of IIT Delhi are mainly on the basis of the GATE scores of the candidates. The cut-off scores of GATE eligibility change every year along with criteria like the area of specialisation, category of General, OBC, SC/ST, and the number of applications. As per the NIRF Report 2024, the median salary for PG two-year engineering programme stood at INR 14 LPA. A total of 308 students were placed in IIT Delhi M.Tech placements 2022-23. This was an improvement from the median salary in M.Tech from the year 2022-23, as the median salary in 2022-23 placements stood at INR 12.5 LPA. Therefore, median salaries in M.Tech placements in IIT Delhi are showing a rising trend.
