The basic requirement that candidates have to fulfill for admission into PhD Biological Sciences in IIT Delhi are as follows:- The candidates must hold a Master's degree in Biological Sciences or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 6.0 or 60% mark. The students can directly apply for the Online Certificate Program in Data Science and Machine Learning offered by IIT Delhi without having to write any entrance test. Applicants are accepted throughout the year and awarded a seat according to organizational priority, education level and work experience. This means the program takes 12 weeks and the average time one takes to complete the activities for the week is 6- 8 hours. Program fee is precursor of rupees 30,000 and approximately five hundred candidates are chosen for this programme each year. No prior professional background in aerospace is required; any bachelor's degree holder with minimum programming, math knowledge is eligible to apply.

For the M.Tech in Robotics program at IIT Delhi, the expected GATE 2024 cutoff is around 1175-1180 for the General category, 1162-1168 for OBC, and 1082-1088 for SC/ST candidates. This cutoff is based on the GATE exam score, and the selection will be done through the COAP counselling process. It's important to note that IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or higher can also apply for M.Tech programs without the GATE score.

The admissions to the MTech programmes of IIT Delhi are mainly on the basis of the GATE scores of the candidates. The cut-off scores of GATE eligibility change every year along with criteria like the area of specialisation, category of General, OBC, SC/ST, and the number of applications. A total of 308 students were placed in IIT Delhi M.Tech placements 2022-23. This was an improvement from the median salary in M.Tech from the year 2022-23, as the median salary in 2022-23 placements stood at INR 12.5 LPA.
